Orlando FRC Regional
The Orlando Regional FIRST Robotics Competition started in 1999 with 28 teams at the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Center. After four years of growth, the decision was made to move to the University Of Central Florida Arena in 2003. Today, this is where Florida teams still compete. The Regional is an international favorite. The Orlando Regional has had teams competing from Canada, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Israel, Turkey and Great Britain.
Tallahassee FRC Regional
The Inaugural Tallahassee Regional, held March 17th-19th, will become the 3rd FRC regional in the State of Florida, bringing together 32 teams from all over the Southeast US, and Hawaii, to compete. Florida’s FRC program really took off in 1999, when 28 teams met to compete at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The Florida Regional, as it was known then, grew over the course of a few years until it was , moved to the University of Central Florida Arena in 2003. FRC in Florida then expanded to include the South Florida Regional in 2012 and now, in 2022, Tallahassee becomes the third regional to take place in Florida.
